Back by popular demand, we are covering all our new Trader Joe’s finds. Alison and I are living together this week, so we did a huge TJ’s haul and have been spending the week trying new things and creating recipes using them. So far, this is the list of items that are new to us that we are loving!
Snacks:
Reduced Fat Cheese Puffs
These have been a favorite of ours for a long time, however, we haven’t added these to our past Trader Joe’s posts. These cheese puffs are slightly healthier than the regular ones and are so good. I try to limit myself to buying these every once in a blue moon because I could eat a whole bag. They are super airy and flavorful. Definitely a great snack when you’re craving something savory.
Five Layer Dip
It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s kills it in the dip department. We tried this five-layer dip for the first time this week and absolutely love it. It has black bean hummus, guac, fresh salsa, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. We both really liked this one because it’s so fresh. It tastes homemade and stays well in the fridge. I hate when dips just aren’t the same if not served all at once—that isn’t an issue with this one which I really like. We ate this dip with TJ’s organic yellow corn tortilla chip rounds which are also really good. They are the perfect size for dipping!
Sea Salted Saddle Potato Crisps
Say hello to a better version of Pringles. These crisps are so good and taste even better than Pringles. I would highly suggest adding these to your chip collection. Another great option when you’re crazy a savory snack. Although they aren’t the healthiest, everything if fine in moderation. These are definitely something that I would buy again when treating myself.
Dark Chocolate Power Berries
This snack is a perfect mix of sweet and bitter. The dark chocolate is really rich and tastes really good with the sweet inside. These were a lot bigger than we had expected. These are comparable to the Brookside Chocolate covered acai berries. Such a great snack when you want something sweet that isn’t too heavy or unhealthy.
Organic Apple Banana Crushers
This one is easily a new favorite of mine. I love all fruit sauces and this one is elite. They have a few different flavors; apple and mango, apple and carrot, apple and banana, etc. This is such a simple but yummy snack when on the go. This is a nice snack to have around the house for adults and kids since it’s so easy. The banana and apple pouches that I have are only 50 calories per pouch, which I think is reasonable.
New Recipes:
Margarita Pizza with Prosciutto
This recipe was made using 100% Trader Joe’s products and is one of our new favorites. I can see this being a monthly occurrence from now on. We used Trader Giotto’s flatbread pizza crust, TJ’s pizza sauce, fresh basil, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. We layered everything on the flatbread and baked at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. We let the pizza set for about 10 minutes, drizzled the balsamic glaze on top and served. It was hands down one of the best pizza’s I’ve had in a long time. Being able to make it at home makes it even better!
Homemade Crispy Chicken Ranch Wrap
Another new item we bought and tried was the frozen breaded chicken breast. Alison and I are both really picky with frozen meat, but these were really good and tasted fresh. When you’re in a pinch, I would definitely recommend this item from TJ’s. We did a homemade version of the McDonald’s crispy chicken ranch wraps and they were SO good. We chopped up the chicken after cooking it in the oven and put it in a flour tortilla with lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and a little ranch dressing. I would highly recommend trying this!
Arugula, Burrata, and Prosciutto Salad
Say hello to the most simple and delicious salad ever. Again, everything used is all from TJ’s. We used arugula for the green, tomatoes, and avocado. We tossed these three ingredients in a tiny bit of olive oil. We added burrata, prosciutto that was left over from the pizza, and lastly added one tablespoon of Trader Joe’s fig jam. This fig jam is to die for and is the perfect addition for any charcuterie board. This salad is so simple but just tastes like summer!
